1. Vadakkumnathan Temple

The intricately carved temple has a Ganesha shrine where appam is the main offering made to Vinayagar. It is believed that Parshuram created this awe-inspiring temple featuring magnificent murals showcasing the scenes from the epics of Mahabharata.

2. Archaeological Museum
Initially started as a picture gallery in 1938 and with the addition of an archaeological gallery in 1948, the Archaeological Museum has become a popular attraction. The intriguing museum got a new home in an old building that was the summer retreat of King Kollengode in 1975.
Display encompasses excavated materials from megalithic sites and a range of stone and bronze sculptures. Most inspiring and engrossing display is the rare treasure of Veerakallu, the stone engravings of ancient heroes and their weapons dating back to 7th to 18th century. An outstanding collection of murals, life size statues of renowned personalities and models of ancient temples are the key attractions of the museum.

3. Arattupuzha temple

Beautifully decorated elephants are assembled for the religious ceremony called Sasthavinte.

4. Paramekkavu Bhagavathy Temple
The significant religious site located near Vadakkumnathan temple has the shrine of goddess Bhagavathi the incarnation of goddess Durga. Paramekkavu Bhagavathy Temple is one of the most important temples participating in the prominent Pooram festival when 15 elephants from the temple are taken to Vadakkumnathan temple.

5. Thrissur State Museum
Wander through the Statue Museum of Thrissur to learn about varied ancient artefacts that includes swords, rocks and jewellery.
